Pictograph Records has re-released to the digital market
Bahu Baru's
original debut record,
Blue Road. Bahu Baru made their entrance into the
music scene during the Seattle "Nirvana-Grunge" craze of the 1990's and was one
of the very first bands to release their album as an "
Enhanced Multimedia
CD" through the AIX record label and NFP Records. As such, the CD included
two music videos, lyric sheets, graphics and band interviews. Blue Road met with
outstanding reviews and was featured on television and in print in such venues
as,
CNN,
NBC's Extra Entertainment,
Entertainment
Tonight,
Mix Magazine,
The Hard Report,
FMQB,
The
Album Network,
Music Connection,
R&R and many
others. The band was even featured in
Billboard Magazine by their
distributor, Navarre, when they played at the Fine Line Cafe in Minneapolis with
Shelby Lynn.

Back in Los Angeles the CD Cover was featured as a mural on the
walls of the world famous
Tower Records on Sunset Boulevard (see
photograph). Bahu Baru received national radio airplay and was given full 30
minute spotlights on
KLOS's Local Licks (
95.5 FM) and
KSCA's
Local Spotlight (101.9). Baru was included on Seattle's "
The
Mountain"
103.7 FM yearly CD with Dean Carlson as one of the top picks
alongside
Ben Harper,
Paula Cole and
Todd Rundgren. Included
in the band's touring they made many live in-store performances for the
Sam
Goody's Music Store chain and
Borders Books and Music stores.
